An issue facing up to 30% of our youth and many in the adult population in the state of Washington is the lack of attention on near vision acuity.  Due to conditions such as tracking, fusion, stereopsis, convergence insufficiency, and visual motor integration, P-12 students cannot read in a sustained fashion.

Heritage University Welcomes Evergreen State College President as Commencement Speaker
Heritage University will host Dr. Thomas L. Purce as commencement speaker during its 33rd Commencement exercise Saturday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the Yakima Valley Sundome. Undergraduate and graduate students from the Yakima Valley and from regional sites in the Tri-Cities, Moses Lake and Seattle will participate in the ceremony. Overall, 331 students earned their degrees at Heritage this year

The genres of science fiction and fantasy, sometimes classified as subgenres of a broader class called “speculative fiction” or SF, have hit the news lately.  The press covered an acrimonious dispute between those who think that the literature should return to its roots and concentrate on adventure and entertainment and those whom the first group believe have let “message” take priority over entertainment.

Crowded around a conference table on a gray winter afternoon, six excited fourth-grade girls marveled at the results of their hard work. In front of them sat the final copy of the Linx Press, a newspaper the Valley View elementary students developed with the help of two Heritage University students who were completing their practicum before starting their student-teaching experience.
