A very happy day for hundreds of Heritage University graduates at the Yakima SunDome this weekend, after participating in the 35th Annual Commencement. Thousands of family members and friends watched as the graduates, dressed in decorated caps and gowns, were called to the stage in recognition of receiving their bachelor's or master's degrees.

The event featured opening remarks from various Heritage University dignitaries including President Dr. John Bassett and guests including Yakama Nation General Council Chairman Davis Washines. Heritage University professor and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Michael Durst served as keynote speaker. The event celebrated the achievements of various graduates, including Atzimba Martinez, who served as the Baccalaureate Degree speaker, and Chantelle Roberts, who delivered the Master's Degree speech.

More than 360 students make up the class of 2017, the largest graduating class at Heritage to date. We congratulate each and every one of our graduates, and wish them the best in their future endeavors!
